The Baby Beat Appeal
Welcome
The Baby Beat Appeal was established in 1987 and aims to maintain and raise standards in preventive care at the Sharoe Green Maternity Unit at Royal Preston Hospital.
What the Baby Beat Appeal aims to do:
- Each of the 4,000 babies delivered in the Sharoe Green Maternity Unit deserves the best chance of life
- A baby's nine month journey into the world is hazardous and the last few hours and minutes crucial to life
- It could be the life of your unborn child or grandchild
- The Maternity Unit's capital budget provides essentials
- Its midwives and medical staff are experienced and dedicated but need access to the latest technology
- The Baby Beat Appeal allows them to take advantage of the very best in foetal monitoring equipment
Sir Tom Finney
Sir Tom Finney, Patron of the Baby Beat Appeal, said: “There was nothing like this in my younger days - they do a marvellous job - there are many babies born now that wouldn't have had a chance 30 or 40 years ago and that's thanks to the work of the Baby Beat Appeal and the Sharoe Green Maternity Unit."
